About me
Indigenous First-Gen Graduate
W'ay! My name is Jaissa Grunlose, I am a member of the Colville Confederated Tribes and I am from Yakima, Washington. I am a first-generation student where I graduated May of 2021 with my Bachelor's in Marketing and an American Indian Studies minor at Washington State University. I currently work for an homeowners assistance program and am applying to various Master's degree programs to continue my education. I've come to realize that my true passion is uplifting Indigenous communities and I'm excited to see where my career takes me.
Why I Do It
As Natives, we're always taught to think 7 generations ahead. And as I learned more about my family history the more I wanted to improve the experience for the generations after me. I want to bring more Indigenous representation to all aspects, from businesses to social media to college classrooms to every part of the decision making process anywhere.
